How to Embed a Single Google Photo in a Post

Follow these steps to embed an image from Google Photos into your webpage or Markdown file:

  1. Open Google Photos in your web browser: https://photos.google.com/
  2. Select the photo you want to embed. This will open it in full view.
  3. Click the Share icon () in the top-right corner and select “Create link.”
  4. Press the blue “Create link” button in the popup.
  5. Click on the generated link (instead of using the “Copy” button).
  6. The image will open in a new tab.
  7. Click the image to expand it fully.
  8. Right-click on the image and select “Convert image tag to Markdown and copy.”
  9. Paste the copied Markdown code into your .md file.

Note: The image may take some time to appear consistently as it propagates across Google’s network. If it doesn’t display immediately, check back later.
